How Education and Strategic Partnerships Transformed My Digital Marketing Agency's Client Acquisition Process

As a digital marketer and business consultant, I strongly believe that education plays a crucial role in acquiring new clients. And for me, it all starts with the DM tools that I use. I am a firm believer in the saying "if you teach them, they will come."

When I owned my marketing agency and now in my education company, Success with Digital, we'd work with partners such as incubators, Chamber of Commerce, and business centers that work with other entrepreneurs. We facilitate workshops for these partners to drive leads to us by providing education to local businesses. This is the number one way to unsell a room in my view.

As a DigitalMarketer Certified Partner,  we get access to value-in-advanced presentations, which are turnkey and ready to use. I offer these workshops for free and every time I do one, I have more and more people reaching out, wanting to learn, and wanting to do consulting and get marketing plans. This has changed the way we acquire new clients.

Previously, before we implemented education into our business, all we had to offer was websites and rigid service retainers. At the Aware and Engage stage of our Customer Value Journey, our old process and new process are very similar, where people would hear about us through referrals and engage with our website and social media content. But the major difference is at the Convert stage.

Now, we focus on doing these value in advanced presentations through our partnerships. And when people sign up for these workshops through a partner, they get directed to my landing page, they sign up to the webinar through my account, and get added to my CRM. This way, I am able to get hundreds of leads onto my list because these people want education.

At the Convert stage, they attend a workshop either in person, online or one of our pre-recorded trainings. I want them to have an "Aha" moment during the workshop and I want them to feel successful and confident to implement something from the workshop. Then, the next thing they want to do is contact me to see what the next steps are.

The major change between my old acquisition process and the new is that now I have this consulting and training that I can offer to them. The first thing I do is I offer them a marketing plan, and then I implement team training, where I show their team how to do digital marketing and how to implement the marketing plan. This way, they can feel successful, and they can promote and advocate our services.

In conclusion, education and strategic partnerships are crucial in acquiring new clients for a digital marketing agency. By providing value to potential clients through workshops and training, I am able to turn leads into clients more effectively. This is my process, and I highly recommend it to other digital marketers and business consultants looking to acquire new clients.
